Managing shared resources

The problems of using natural resources by a large number of people appeared many centuries ago and exist in our time. The solution to these problems is usually carried out through state regulation or through privatization. Fair distribution and control over the implementation of the established rules was carried out by creating special structures with the specified functions. However, their work involves material costs, requires payment of expenses, which is not always effective for the organizers. In world practice, there is a centuries-old experience of self-regulation of the use of common resources by a large group of people, which can be useful in our time. Moreover, self-management of these resources is carried out with low costs for distribution, control of compliance with established rules, repair of infrastructure, which allows more efficient use of shared resources in the interests of consumers.
